Get the Work You Want

In the latest issue of Dynamic Graphics, SVA professor Daniel Schutzsmith introduces the Client Wish List, a tool developed to help graphic designers land the clients they really want.

Read the article here: http://www.dynamicgraphics.com/dgm/Article/28852

Daniel wanted to set up a thread on GDF where designers could discuss the Client Wish List and other marketing-related issues.

Feel free to share your thoughts and questions with the community. With any luck, Daniel will join the discussion and answer questions!

Enjoy!

Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.

This thread will give you a good starting point for things that a designer wants in their clients.

I am here and listening! Thanks for setting this up Ben and thanks Morea for that link! I know Cat has always put together some great write-ups that become staples in my bookmark collection and this one proves to be no exception - its an excellent read and definitely needed in our industry.

Great article.

I think that this technique is something that many people understand almost inherently, but we don't really know how to form our vague idea into a workable process. We think about the clients we want to work with on a more subconscious level without really understanding what we're doing.

By addressing things directly (as you explained in the article) it helps to focus for our energies. It makes the whole thing into a concrete, workable plan instead of an abstract notion, which makes it much more doable and effective.

Thanks for sharing.
